They are not asking for forgiveness, they are asking that everyone forgets. In fact, the last thing they want is forgiveness. That would require that they admit they made a mistake in the first place.

Hi Charles, thanks always for your extremely thoughtful and insightful offerings to us all. I will add my two cents. While my husband and i bought the story for the first two shots and the booster also, before we woke up, what i will have a hard time forgetting (let's not worry about the forgiving part.), but forgetting...was how some of my loved ones treated me with hatred for siding with those who chose to not get the shot...for wanting to discuss why they had rights also. They not only treated me with hatred, and shut down any possible conversation other than their own views, but they expressed such vicious hatred towards the evil unvaccinated. They did not think they deserved medical care. They did not mind if these people died....i was horrified to see people i have loved my whole life reveal their hatred and venom...and with such sanctimony at that! That i cannot forget...this is a part of them that covid policies and divisions nourished..i think that any extreme conditions cause these attitudes to rise to the surface. Hitler did a good job of milking that. So, maybe i can forgive, but i will not forget that these particular people are capable of blind hatred.
