Underneath all of the sharpest divisions, human beings of any opinion tribe can still recognize certain fundamental truths. I like to touch those sometimes, so that I myself don’t get lost in the conflict. Conflict is loud. Fear is loud. Rage is loud. Bombs are loud, and so are the wails of mothers and the sobs of children and cries of the afflicted for justice. All of these can drown out other important sounds that the heart needs to hear.

Someone above commented that the misspelling of gratitude was unfortunate. I also had noticed the spelling at that moment in the film. I smiled with the thought that it improves the phonetic accessibility of the word for the non-English speaker, making the piece all the more perfect and beautiful. Plus I loved the way the two T’s were crossed together as yet another inviting brushstroke of this artwork that made my heart sing again and again. 🌹

Oh, and re: triggering self-perfectionism of the artist... I’ve been regretting my own oversight in not checking the video camera res and frame rate before my friend filmed me dancing! The video looks so clear and precise on my phone. But there are reasons… Settling in to the space and compassion of perfection and imperfection being equally perfect. ✨

Ah. My daughter went to Santa Cruz Waldorf School kindergarten through 8th grade. Charles has spoken at an event hosted by a couple who's boys went to our waldorf school and now run a biodynamic farm. I appreciated your renderings in the video

My journey in life has thrown a lot at me and I have felt alone and like I was struggling to ride a bike with two flat tires uphill against a headwind on a dark path surrounded by wolves. Oh and the chain was rusted and the bottom bracket had no bearings.
