Back in 2019, I hosted an online course called Unlearning for Change Agents. One of the main themes was deprogramming from legacy belief systems that get in the way of understanding the people and systems we hope to change.
The course is all the more relevant now, as the political polarization of my country and the world has only increased since 2018. While the course is not overtly political, it engages an urgent question: How do we navigate our differences in a way that doesn't destroy the fabric of our society? So, I am going to relaunch the course. (It actually wasn’t my idea—it was my fabulous former wife Patsy who suggested it with her friend, Lorenz, the founder of a new platform called Sutra.)
We are launching the course with a live call on noon ET, November 15 — a dialog format with Sutra founder Lorenz Sell. This will give you a taste of what the course will be like. Then you can decide if you want the full experience. You can register to join this live call at: https://unlearning conversation.sutra.co/. Registration is free, and I promise it won’t funnel you into a marketing list

In addition to its tools for interactivity and participation, one thing I like about the Sutra platform is that it allows gift-based tuition. That means participants can set their own course tuition, whatever amount feels right and fair and respects your financial situation. That could very well be zero. I’m grateful to Sutra for allowing this flexibility.
The course is quite short—four self-paced segments, plus a second call later in the program. The live calls allow me to bridge the course content to current events. I look forward to seeing some of you there.
Thank you,
Charles
This was the first course I took of Charles’ and it was life changing.
How about unlearning your white male privilege, Charles. Hand the microphone over, already. We don’t need another discussion between two white men. Your job as men is to serve women and children. Unlearn that we are to serve you. Unlearn that your voices are the most important. And learn from women—starting with black, brown and indigenous women, the most oppressed by the system. That’s where you go to actually learn. You’ll unlearn some shit real quick if you actually just start listening to women.
