I'm not sure anymore. If you listen to Mattias Desmet, people are in a hypnotized state. The 30% are easily hypnotized and influence the 40% on the fence. The 30% of us that aren't easily hypnotized get dismissed.
It's happened before and it can happen again.
Why? Because the powers that be have studied mammals and human psychology for decades. They know how to control the lowest common denominator.
Now if these easily hypnotized people could be changed or if they no longer matter, then maybe there's a chance for peace. But as long as they support authoritarians, things will not change.
Charles, this is one of the most powerful statements I've ever heard about peace-keeping:
"Peace is the capacity to hold the parts that we are uncomfortable with."
It brings the idea of peace right down (or up?) to the choice of the individual. Grouping together, marching, campaigning, these all matter, but until we make, and daily, hourly remake the choice to hold our disparate parts as a whole the outer representation will always be incongruent, and thus weaker than its potential. There is so much to think about in this single statement, and so much action to be taken—right now.
Thank you for putting into words what was on the tip of my mind this morning. I'll watch this with great pleasure and I join in your confidence that peace emanates and ripples out each time we have faith in each other. I have no doubt the political conflict in Ukraine is a necessary step in the path to ending all conflict, everywhere, in our lifetime and sooner than we think.
I love the reminder to practice peace. My experience is that it is necessary to let go of the idea of a particular outcome. The goal is the path and the path is the goal. To hold the flame for peace, to make it our heart practice as a gesture to the spirit, an offering, knowing that it may or may have global implications is key. Otherwise, it is easy for it to become another form of attachment.
For me, the idea is to practice peace without a specific expectation of the outcome. To practice peace because it's the best option, and perhaps the only one for those of us who are aware that it is an option.

Yes, there is an art to not demonising people or a group of people and it starts in our own inner world. Making judgements on the world out there solidifies the sense, "I am right; I am better" and this is the beginning of violence within. And, this is where all violence begins.
My first time here... From someone who speaks quite plainly, usually, I am a Spiritual Being In Process... We all are, yes, but I wanted to start out that way, because I am admittedly NOT to a level of Bodhisattva, or likely even close to that, but I do have a strong connection to The Divine, to give it a "name" that isn't too specific! I do share the doubts and fears of others who say, when they look around them and see what is going on and what many people are caught up in-- fog, or denial, or psychosis, or hatred, and so on-- and I also have a feeling in my bones that we SHALL prevail, and a New, Beautiful Paradigm will come. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but maybe yes, in our lifetimes, at least, a beginning... I don't know, but I feel this Evil that has been running things is running out of time. It's what to DO with them that is conflicting for me... I don't want to kill anyone, but sometimes I think it's the only way to stop them. Anyway, thanks for being here and giving me the opportunity to join you all. xo

I am not cynical. Yet, I am committed to clear seeing of hypnosis and manipulation, discernment, and naming that which is unconscious.
